KELLY, Judge.

In this case, we are called upon to determine whether a defendant must be informed of the possibility of a mandatory sentence before his waiver of a jury trial can be considered voluntary and intelligent. We hold that appellee, Richard Golinsky, 1 validly waived his right to a jury trial although neither the Commonwealth nor his attorney nor the trial court informed him that the mandatory sentencing provisions of 18 Pa.C.S.A. § 7508 might be applied to him if he were found guilty.
