On June 22,1887, a railroad corporation was formed under tlie general railroad act of this state called the “New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad Company,” with a capital of $4,500,000; which, to distinguish it from other corporations of the same name, will be called “No. 3.” It paid its organization tax. On August 15, 1887, said New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad Company No. 3 entered into a consolidation agreement under the statutes of New York, with the Erie & State Line Railroad Company, a corporation under the laws of Pennsylvania, by which the two corporations were consolidated…
