The Case

This is an appeal from the action of the Tennessee Department of Employment Security in denying unemployment compensation benefits to petitioner Brenda DePriest. Petitioner was employed by the Tennessee Department of Human Services as a secretary, in which capacity she served for approximately ten months when she applied for leave to keep certain holy days of her religion, the Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day, a total of eight days.
