1Opinion of the Court

CHOATE, District Judge.

This is a libel brought by the owners, master and crew of the steamship Etna, against the steamship Colon and her cargo, claiming compensation as for a salvage service in towing her into the port of New York, when disabled by the breakage of her machinery at sea. Some of the consignees of cargo by the Etna have joined as co-libellants, claiming for damage through detention in the voyage to their goods, which being fruit, it is claimed became worthless or damaged by decay, before arrival, and which, but for the detention, would have arrived in good condition.
