Appellant James George Guevara was found guilty of the 1993 murder of his wife, Velia Guevara, and was sentenced to life in prison. On appeal, he raises the following issues: (1) the trial court committed reversible error in admitting an out-of-court statement by Minnie Salinas as a statement by a co-conspirator pursuant to Texas Rule of Evidence 801(e)(2)(E); (2) the admission of Salinas’s out-of-court statement violated Guevara’s right to confrontation and cross-examination guaranteed under the Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States…
