Plaintiff commenced this paternity action on November 3, 1982, alleging that defendant was the father of her thirteen-year-old son who was born on January 2, 1969. Defendant moved to dismiss the case on the ground that the then-effective six-year statute of limitations for suits brought under the Paternity Act, MCL 722.711 et seq.; MSA 25.491 et seq., barred plaintiff’s action. The trial court denied the motion. The case was tried by a jury on April 1, 1985, and the jury found defendant to be the father of the child.
