Willie Earl Coleman was charged by indictment with causing the death of Jimmy Owens, by shooting him with a gun, contrary to § 13A-6-2, Code of Alabama 1975, as amended.

The jury found the appellant "guilty of murder as charged in the indictment" and the trial court set sentence at 30 years' imprisonment. (R. 113)
