¶1. A Leake County jury convicted Brandon P. Smith of possession of a firearm by. a convicted felon. The Leake County. Circuit Court .sentenced Smith to serve ten years,, as a habitual offender, in the custody of the Mississippi Department *772of Corrections (MDOC), with the sentence to run consecutively to the sentence Smith was already serving.
