A jury convicted appellant David Gerald Arnold of murdering Kenneth Wimbley and assessed punishment at ten years’ confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. On appeal, he challenges his conviction and sentence on the grounds that the trial court improperly refused his requests for a manslaughter instruction and for instructions limiting the use of extraneous-offense evidence, failed to instruct the jury to disregard improper arguments, and abused its discretion by refusing to allow defense counsel to conduct a second…
