¶1. Jeffrey S. Kimbrough appeals from judgments of conviction for first-degree reckless homicide, contrary to WlS. Stat. § 940.02 (1997-98), 1 and child abuse, contrary to WlS. Stat. § 948.03(2)(a) and (5) (1997-98). Kimbrough also appeals from the order denying his motion for postcon-viction relief. On appeal, Kimbrough asserts that the State failed to establish beyond a reasonable doubt that he was subjectively aware that his conduct created an unreasonable and substantial risk of death or great bodily harm.
