I iThis is a mass tort suit involving several consolidated lawsuits filed in Second Parish Court in Jefferson Parish. The litigation arises out of a hydrochloric acid leak which occurred in Avondale, Louisiana, on April 5, 2001. This appeal involves twenty plaintiffs who proceeded to trial together. Defendants, McGowan Working Partners, Inc. and Avondale Oil and Gas, L.L.C. (f/k/a McGowan Working Partners Southeast Louisiana, L.L.C.)
