Plaintiffs, John and Anna Carlson, residing near the Olympic highway, in Mason county, between Shelton and Hoodsport, were the parents of Melvin Carlson, who, April 21, 1938, was five years and eleven months of age. About five o’clock on the afternoon of April 21st, Melvin was playing around the house occupied by Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Reader, located on the west side of the Olympic highway, near the Carlson home.
