This is a medical malpractice action brought by Helen and Eugene Brillant against Dr. Lorenza Royal and Sterling Medical Associates (hereinafter "Sterling"). The Brillants allege that Dr. Royal's failure to diagnose Mrs. Brillant's cerebral aneurysm, manifested on March 25, 1987, by a sudden severe headache, which is a classical symptom of a "warning leak," was the proximate cause of paralysis she later suffered because of a full rupture of the aneurysm on April 10.
