On March 20, 1936, Mathilda M. Enes filed in the office of the clerk of the district court of Monroe County, an information charging Helen Brewer with being insane. A hearing was had before the commissioners of insanity of Monroe County and that body made an order, adjudging Helen Brewer insane and ordering her committed to the State Hospital at Mount Pleasant. From this order she perfected an appeal to the district court. The county attorney of Monroe County filed a motion in said cause, asking that it be assigned for trial without a jury.
