The Defendant, Timothy Wayne White, has been indicted in a two count indictment *587for the offense of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(2). In Count One, the indictment charges that on or about December 13, 1991, being a person previously convicted of a felony in Sumner County, Tennessee, the Defendant did unlawfully and knowingly possess, in or affecting commerce, a Ruger .22 caliber revolver.
