The Evant Independent School District, of Coryell County, was incorporated in 1892. A petition to extend the boundaries of the District, in compliance with Revised Statutes, Article 2865, so as to include a part of the territory in Common School District No. 16 of Lampasas County was presented and acted on by the School Board of the Evant District on July 2, 1921, and was filed for record in Coryell and Hamilton counties on July 5th and 7th of the same year.
