Williams-Detwiler Company, plaintiff: below, and appellee herein, hereinafter called the plaintiff, brought this suit in the Jefferson circuit court against the Federal Materials Company, hereinafter called the defendant, to recover on two notes, one for $1,000 and one for $1,100, and a check for $1,000 signed by the defendant.
