OPINION

LAGARDE, Justice.

Markeas Fitzgerald Shavers appeals his convictions for murder. 1 After finding him guilty, the jury assessed his punishment at life imprisonment and a $10,000 fine for the murder of Christopher Jackson and at forty-seven years’ imprisonment and a $10,000 fine for the murder of Juanita Jackson.
