James Henry Norton was convicted of the malice murder of Melissa Douglas and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Responding to the defendant’s emergency call, police found the victim’s body in the apartment she shared with the defendant. The victim had been stabbed repeatedly. Police discovered her four-year-old son sleeping in another room of the apartment.
