This is an action of contract on the following writing:

“New York, June 11th, 1888. M. J. Drummond. Dear Sir, — I hereby agree to enter into a formal contract with the *578Housatonic Water Company when organized, binding myself to take at least seven hundred and fifty ($750) dollars’ worth of water per annum for the period of ten years on the following basis: Water for manufacturing purposes 12¡-cents per 1,000 gallons, Hydrants $40.00 per annum each, Private Dwellings one tap for one family $8.00 per annum.
