¶ 1. On February 22, 2007, Emanuel Sanders pleaded guilty in the Lowndes County Circuit Court to one count of armed robbery and one count of possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to nine years for the conviction of armed robbery, and six years, to run consecutively, for the conviction of possession of marijuana, all in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). In July 2012, Sanders filed his first motion for post-conviction relief (PCR), which was dismissed by the circuit court as time-barred. He then filed a motion for relief from the…
