This suit is brought by Lilla M. Miller, the widow of Henry Gr. Miller, in her own behalf, and on behalf of her minor' daughter, Carolyn Jane Miller, against the State of Illinois, under Section 7a of the Workmen’s Compensation Act.

The decedent, Henry Gr. Miller, was employed by the respondent at the time of his death, and had been so employed for several years prior thereto, in the Department of Revenue, as supervisor of the Rules and Regulations Division of the department.
