Weaver, J.-
West First Street in the city of Des Moines extends north and south along the river front. On the west side of the street, the city is quite compactly built up with stores, shops, and structures of various kinds. Threading their way through the streets and alleys of this section, the lines of several different railroads approach from the west across First Street at grade, and thence east over the bridges which span the river.
