{¶ 1} A hearing was held June 25 and 26, 2009, regarding whether the interpreter assigned to this case is qualified to serve as a court interpreter. Defendant Jose Luis Lopez-Antonio was present along with his attorneys Robert *6J. Nekervis and Robert James Beck Jr. of the Franklin County Public Defenders Office. Defendant refused to stipulate to the qualifications of Spanish-English language interpreter Ricardo Bustos, who had been appointed by the court to interpret for the defendant.
