This case arises under the acts of Assembly for the protection of the actual settlers in the land west of the Tennessee river, and more immediately under the second section of the act of February 20th, 1835, ‘to- reduce the price of the public lands west of the Tennessee river and for other purposes.’ Sess. Acts, 1834-5, p. 182.
