CULPEPPER, Judge.

Plaintiff seeks workmen’s compensation benefits for total and permanent disability. From an adverse judgment on the merits plaintiff appeals.

The facts show the accident occurred on June 24, 1962 while plaintiff was working as a derrick man for Circle Drilling Company. As he was running down a flight of steps from the derrick floor to the shale shaker, his feet slipped from under him. He fell on his back and slid down to the bottom of the flight of 8 or 10 steps.
