This proceeding was begun in the Court of Common Pleas of Franklin County, Ohio, by the filing of a petition in which Joseph D. Karam, appellant herein, was plaintiff, and Mark McElroy, appellee herein, was defendant, seeking compensatory damages in the amount of $400,000 and punitive damages of $100,000, or a total of $500,000 damages.
