HAMBLEN, Chief Justice.
Appellants instituted this suit in the District Court of Harris County as a statutory election contest. The election in question-was held on April 5, 1955, in the City of South Houston for the purpose of electing a mayor, three aldermen and a city secretary. Appellees were declared to have been elected to the respective offices by the election officials. Appellants, who were the unsuccessful candidates for such offices, contested the election alleging numerous irregularities. which they contended rendered the entire election void, or alternatively rendered the election…
