The appellees, J. A. Barney, as sheriff and tax collector, and J. B. Cole, as treasurer, of Wayne county, filed their bill in the chancery court of that county against the appellant John Green. The appellant answered the bill, and there was a trial on bill, answer, and proofs, resulting in a decree in favor of appellees, from which this appeal is prosecuted. The Bank of Waynesboro, a banking corporation under the laws of this state, became insolvent and suspended business in June, 1908, and some time afterwards, at the instance of creditors, was put into, the hands of a receiver.
