These cases present the latest episode, following the decision in Northern Pipeline Co. v. Marathon Pipeline Co., 458 U.S. 50, 102 S.Ct. 2858, 73 L.Ed.2d 598 (1982), in the effort of Congress and the courts to unravel the jurisdictional complexities of the bankruptcy law. Noting a probable lack of jurisdiction in these cases, the Court conducted a hearing on the question whether the district court has jurisdiction over appeals pending therein immediately prior to the enactment of the Bankruptcy Amendments and Federal Judgeship Act of 1984, Pub.L.…
