In this civil rights action, the Plaintiff contends that she was subjected to abusive *1251treatment while a special-needs student at Hopewell Middle School. She is suing the abusive teacher, the principal of Hopewell at the time, and the county school district. The principal, Frances Boyd, filed a cross-claim against the county school district, its superintendents, and its board, arguing that they are required to provide for her legal defense.
