Involved here is the issue of whether a policeman can invoke before the grand jury the so-called informer’s privilege as to the identity of an informant. In addition, the majority opinion questions the sufficiency of the record and the procedure used by the trial court in determining whether the witness persisted in refusing to answer the question; and lastly holds that a grand jury cannot pursue a chain of witnesses to acquire legal testimony about a law violation or an exoneration of an alleged offense.
