McMILLIAN, Circuit Judge.

Harry R. Packer, III, appeals from a final judgment entered in the District Court 1 for the Western District of Arkansas upon a jury verdict finding him guilty of attempting to manufacture mescaline, a controlled substance, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 846 (1976), and aiding and abetting the attempted manufacture of mescaline in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2 (1976). Appellant was sentenced to a term of two years imprisonment, twenty-three months of which were suspended, and placed on probation for twenty-three months. For reversal appellant argues that the…
