This action is trespass quare clausum fregit and was begun in the circuit court of Rock Island county by Charles E. Sikes, appellant, against appellee, for forcibly entering his premises, being that part of the northwest quarter of section 17, town 18, north, range i, east of the fourth principal meridian, lying west of the west line of River street, in the original town of Hampton, excepting blocks i and 2 in said village, in the county of Rock Island, and removing and carrying away therefrom sand and gravel by means of steamboats, barges and sand-pumps.
