After appellant Rickey Trent Stanley’s vehicle struck and killed Deputy Sheriff Chad Key, a jury convicted appellant of two offenses: (1) felony murder (in the course of committing felony DWI *), and (2) aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury to a public servant. The jury assessed punishment at 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the felony murder conviction, and 42 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the aggravated assault conviction.
