The galvanizing plant of the Hake Galvanizing Works, situated near the Town iof Harvey in Jefferson Parish, was destroyed by fire during the evening of June .22, 1943, as a result of ignited acetylene .gas escaping from a cylinder, located in a storeroom on the premises, which had been ■purchased from the Air Reduction Sales 'Company of New Orleans.
