This action was brought in the district court of the county of Meeker against Michael Murray to recover the possession of eighty, acres of land which the plaintiff alleged that he owned in fee and that the defendant was in possession thereof. The answer admitted that the defendant was in possession, denied the plaintiff was the owner of the land, and alleged title and possession in himself for more than twenty years next before the commencement of this action.
