In its material aspects the present proceeding possesses negligible interest, but its bearing upon human rights raises questions of transcendent importance. The issue, in brief, is whether, under the applicable rules of law, the court is compelled to stigmatize the three infant children of this decedent with the *865bar sinister and brand them throughout all time with the opprobrium of being bastards.
