¶1 Raymond Garland appeals his convictions for second degree murder, second degree manslaughter, and second degree assault, all with firearm enhancements, for his participation in a deadly altercation at Bleacher’s Sports Bar and Pub in the early hours of November 12, 2004.1 In the published portion of this decision, we discuss Garland’s argument that the trial court erred in allowing the State to impeach him with his counsel’s opening statements from two prior proceedings that ended in mistrials.
