The defendant, Phillip Jackson (defendant), appeals an adjudication of a proba tion violation ordering him to serve seven years of a ten-year suspended sentence. This case came before the Supreme Court for oral argument on March 3, 2009, pursuant to an order directing the parties to appear and show cause why the issues raised in this appeal should not summarily be decided.
