The plaintiff, Patricia Johnson, brought an action in the circuit court of St. Clair County against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (State Farm). Johnson was injured in an automobile collision with an uninsured motorist. As a result, she incurred medical expenses totaling $12,528.99. Johnson submitted a claim to State Farm for payment of medical expenses under the medical payment provisions of her policy.
