On a trial in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, February 25, 1926, a jury returned a verdict finding the defendant guilty of possession of intoxicating liquor and assessed his punishment at one year’s imprisonment in the county jail, and a fine of one thousand dollars. After judgment upon that verdict the defendant appealed.

A search warrant was issued December 23, 1925, by Alex D. Saper, Justice of the Peace, upon the application of B. D. Pugh, Deputy Sheriff of Jackson County, by authority of which search warrant a police sergeant searched the premises of the defendant and found certain…
