This is a suit by O. C. Rogers against the Home Insurance Company to recover the amount due upon two fire insurance policies for $500 and $1,000 respectively, issued by defendant company upon the stock of goods of plaintiff which had been destroyed by fire during the life of the policies. Defendant pleaded general denial, and general and special demurrers which need not be further referred to, and specially pleaded a violation of the usual iron-safe provisions of the policy, and also that the policy had been avoided by the fraud of the insured before and after the…
