Petitioner, Maria Ferreira, a waitress and assistant equipment manager at B & B Caterers, filed a workers’ compensation claim under the District of Columbia Workers’ Compensation Act, D.C.Code §§ 36-301 et seq. (1993 Repl.), claiming that she sustained a disabling injury in the course of her employment with B & B Caterers.
