OPINION OF THE COURT

WATKINS, Judge:

The appellant was convicted of willfully and maliciously burning his automobile with the intent to defraud the insurer of the vehicle and of making a false statement under oath with respect to the incident.1 He was sentenced by a military judge to a *520bad-conduct discharge. Our review is pursuant to Article 66, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. § 866 (1976).
