This appeal is from a judgment entered upon the verdict of a jury in favor of plaintiff as administratrix, awarding damages on account of the death of her husband.

In the early morning of October 28, 1949, the severed body of Ralph J. ICeiper, a welder employed by appellant Northwestern Pacific Railroad Company, was found lying just outside of the westerly rail of the company’s main line track at a siding south of Ukiah known as Echo.
