United States v. Barber

Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit

Decided February 29, 2016No. 14-3896Published

1Per curiam

Richard Barber pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). The district court1 sentenced Barber to 100 months’ imprisonment. On appeal, Barber contends the district court committed reversible error in two ways: (1) by failing to adequately explain the court’s reasons for imposing a 100-month sentence; and (2) by failing to adequately consider Barber’s mitigation evidence. We disagree with Barber’s contentions and affirm.
