OPINION
KOCH, Judge.
This appeal involves a deputy sheriff whose application to become a police officer trainee was denied because he could not comply with Nashville’s visual acuity standards for new police recruits. The applicant filed an action in the Chancery Court for Davidson County against the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Civil Service Commission, alleging that they had discriminated against him because of his visual handicap.
