Plaintiffs-appellants Catherine and Frank Helminski, as Next Friends of their minor son, Hugh, brought this products liability suit against defendant-appellee Ayerst Laboratories. The Helminskis contended that Hugh’s in útero exposure to Fluothane,1 a surgical anesthetic manufactured by Ay-erst, resulted in injury to his developing nervous system.
