At the sentencing hearing following appellant’s conviction for aggravated assault, the trial court ruled that the State had carried its burden of establishing that appellant’s prior guilty plea, proffered by the State to enhance appellant’s punishment for the aggravated assault, was knowing, intelligent and voluntary. The State had presented extrinsic evidence at the sentencing hearing instead of submitting a copy of the transcript of appellant’s guilty plea hearing.
